How we work

The Icon Way: Four Promises Behind Every Roof

The Icon Way is Icon Roofing's customer-first approach to roof repair, replacement and maintenance. It rests on four tenets: competitive pricing, quality materials, a satisfaction guarantee, and warranties on craftsmanship and materials. In practice, it means honest inspections, photos of your roof's real condition and no pressure to buy work you do not need.

The four tenets

  1. Tenet 1: Competitive pricing

Fair prices for the work your roof actually needs.

Your Roof Advisor bases the estimate on what the inspection and photos show. You will not be sold extra work to raise the total, and a repair stays on the table whenever it will do the job.

  2. Tenet 2: Quality materials

Proven products, installed the way the manufacturer intends.

As a GAF Master Elite contractor, our team is trained on GAF roofing systems. We follow code for flashing and ventilation on every roof so it holds up to Arizona heat, UV and monsoon rain.

  3. Tenet 3: A satisfaction guarantee

We stand behind the finished job.

Our goal is to exceed your expectations on every project. Ask your Roof Advisor to explain how the satisfaction guarantee applies to your project before work begins.

  4. Tenet 4: Warranties on craftsmanship and materials

Coverage on the work and the products.

Your roof is covered for both workmanship and materials. When the system qualifies, we can offer the GAF Golden Pledge limited warranty, with 50-year material coverage and 25-year workmanship coverage.

What is The Icon Way?

The Icon Way is how Icon Roofing runs every job, built on four tenets: competitive pricing, quality materials, a satisfaction guarantee, and warranties on both craftsmanship and materials. Founder Zac Payne created it after 8 years in the roofing industry showed him that customers deserved more honesty and less pressure from roofers.

Zac saw firsthand how the customer experience could be better: more honest, more transparent and focused on long-term value instead of the biggest possible sale. The Icon Way is his answer. It applies whether you need a single cracked tile replaced or a full reroof.

How does a Roof Advisor deliver The Icon Way?

Every Icon Roofing project starts with a Roof Advisor whose job is to work in your interest, not ours. They listen to your goals, concerns and expectations first. Then they inspect the roof and take dozens of photos, or hundreds on a large roof, so you can see its condition with your own eyes.

We do not upsell, and we do not push work your roof does not need. The photos do the talking. You see the cracked tiles, the lifted shingles or the worn foam coating, and you decide what happens next. See what a residential roof inspection covers.

What if your roof only needs a small repair?

If your roof only needs a small repair, that is what we recommend. A few replaced tiles, a resealed vent or debris cleared from the valleys is a good outcome for you and for us. You should never feel pushed into a full replacement when a smaller fix will protect your home.

Here is how we look at the most common situations:

  • Your roof needs a few tiles replaced or debris blown off? Great. Small fixes like cracked tile and underlayment repair are part of our everyday work.
  • You have a leak and only want one section repaired? Great. We will repair that section and show you the rest of the roof so you know where it stands.
  • Your roof is at the end of its life? Also great. We will show you why and walk you through your roof replacement options.
  • A storm caused damage and you want to know if insurance will cover it? Absolutely. Read how we help with roof damage insurance claims.

Who does The Icon Way protect?

The Icon Way protects homeowners, HOAs and building owners from bad roofers and pushy salespeople. Icon Roofing was built around doing the right thing the right way. That applies equally to a single-family home in Mesa, a townhome community in Gilbert and an apartment complex in Phoenix.

Boards and property managers get the same photo-backed inspections and plain-language estimates that homeowners do. Learn about our roofing work for homeowners associations.

How do the four tenets show up on your project?

Each tenet shows up at a specific point in your project. Competitive pricing shapes your estimate. Quality materials go on the roof. The satisfaction guarantee covers how we finish the job. Warranties on craftsmanship and materials protect you after the crew leaves, including the GAF Golden Pledge limited warranty when the system qualifies.

Arizona roofs work hard. Extreme heat and UV wear down shingles and foam coatings, and on tile roofs the underlayment usually gives out long before the tiles do. Good materials and real warranties matter more here than in milder climates. Read about our GAF Master Elite certification and what it adds to your coverage.

Questions about The Icon Way

Still unsure? Call (480) 427-7600 and a roof advisor will walk you through it.

Will Icon Roofing recommend a repair instead of a replacement?

Yes, when a repair will do the job. Our Roof Advisors inspect the roof and photograph what they find, then recommend the work the roof needs. If a few tiles, a vent seal or one leaking section is the problem, we will say so. If the underlayment has failed across the roof, the photos will show you why replacement makes sense.

Do I get to see photos of my roof?

Yes. Photos are a core part of The Icon Way. Your Roof Advisor takes dozens of photos during the inspection, or hundreds on a large roof, so you can see damage, wear and problem areas without climbing a ladder yourself. You can use them to compare estimates or to share with your insurance company.

Can Icon Roofing help me with a storm damage insurance claim?

Yes. If a monsoon or hail storm damaged your roof, we can inspect it, document the damage with photos and help you work out whether your policy may cover it. Your insurance company makes the final coverage decision. Our job is to give you and your adjuster a clear, honest picture of the roof.
